Children´s rights at EU borders and the CEAS reform

In June 2026, the new legislation and practices under the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) entered fully into force — with far‑reaching consequences for people seeking protection in the EU, including many children.

After four months of implementation, we want to take stock and discuss: What needs to be done to better protect children’s rights at EU external borders, and what can be done from Germany? The event is directed towards practitioners in counselling, academia, advocacy and policy.
